A) System Requirements

The current version of the game is a web application and it will only work on “Chrome” Browser. The current version is web based and works only on “Chrome”. We recommend Chrome version “80” or above
Further, you can’t play the game in any touch devices. A mouse is required to play the game ideally on PC, Laptop or Mac Book. Tablets, iPad or phones can not be used to play this game at this moment
A reliable internet connection is recommended
The game is designed as semi-automated. In order to play interactively, you must conference in your preferred way (conference call with all players) with all players
This version of the game may not work over VPN specially in work computers where firewall will block peer connections

B) Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

1. How to create an account?

Click on “Register” link and complete the registration form. Next, you may upload your profile photo for others to see who they are playing with when you log in. The the304game.com administrator will approve your request within 48 hours

2. How to start the game?

One of the player must host the game while other 3 players join as guests
First, the host player launch the game in host mode by selecting host option and 3 players in the game launch page. After launching the game, the host can setup the game parameters Refer “Game Setup” section. A unique “game Id” will be generated by the system and the host must share with other 3 players when they are ready to connect
Other 3 players should launch the game as non-host mode then, enter the “game id” and click on “Start” button
Once all the 3 players are connected, the host can click on “Start” button to start the game. The “Start” button will be only enabled once all the players are connected

3. How to bid?

The bidding is completely manual and there is no systematic approach coordinated by the system. It’s up to the players to handle it same as playing manually. By default, the bid starter will be enabled for ask the bid. Then whoever want to ask, they need to press the “Bid” button with the bid amount. The bidder should keep a trump before dealing the next set of cards.

4. How to move the cards?

Arrange – Drag and drop a card on top of any card in the hand
Play – Drag and drop a card into the “Play Box”
Keep Trump - Drag and drop a card into the “Trump Box”

C) Game Buttons

N’Round – Short for “New Round”. The dealer can start a new Round anytime and the deal will go to the next player (clockwise)
N’Bid - Short for “New Bid”. The dealer can finish the bid and pass the deal to the next player (clockwise)
N’Trick - Short for “New Trick”. The player who get the pile can start a new trick by clicking on
Deal - By clicking, the dealer can deal the cards
Claim All - By clicking, any player can claim all piles. However, the system will not check whether it’s correct or not. The decision will be taken by the players and opposite team have to accept or reject
< 1.5 – There is no 1.5 or more points to the bid starter
< 2.5 – There is no 2.5 or more points to any of the players
P/C – Short for “Partner Close”. This feature is currently not available
H/C – Short for “High Code”
Spoilt - The Spoilt trump can be called by opposite team (may be you can call opponents) when no trump suites with them
Caps - By clicking, any player can claim all piles. However, the system will not check whether it’s correct or not. The decision will be taken by the players and opposite team have to accept or reject
Redo – By clicking, the dealer can redo the deal. E.g when less than 1.5 pts, less than 2.5 pts, etc
Pay – Payment must be done manually. Pay button it will be is enabled once all tricks are completed
Bid – By clicking, you can bid. You must select your bid amount before clicking on
Accept – You can accept the “Claim All” or “Caps” called by the opposite team
Reject – You can reject the “Claim All” or “Caps” called by the opposite team
Settings – It shows the game setup data. Refer “Game Setup” section
Exit – Exit the game application

E) Game Setup (Host Only)

Game ID – Auto-generated unique id
Team A – Player 1 will be always the host and your partner
Team B –Opponents
Bank Type – It’s always set as “Half”. The total number of tokens will be give half/half to each teams
Add Wins to Bank – If checked, then the winning tokens will be added to the bank
Total Tokens – Total number of tokens in banks
Minimum Bid – A minimum bid to start
Play Until Bankrupt – Not applicable
Auto Arrange Piles – By default the piles will be auto arranged. No option for the players to arrange manually
Confirm Clicks – If selected, then each button clicks will prompt for confirmation
Start – Start the game or connect
Full Screen – Show the game in full screen view or exit full screen
Close – This will close the settings

F) Known Issues

1. Connection Glitch

When there is an issue in internet connection, a player may be disconnected and reconnected automatically. This may cause the game state out of synch and not able to play. In this case, the dealer must click on “Redo” to start a fresh bid.

2.Repeated (Same set of cards) cards when less than 1.5 Pts or 2.5 Pts

Click on “Redo” couple of times. If not resolved, then just continue playing as a trial bid

3.Connection Status Icons

This connection status icons are updated only during the game launch. Afterwards, they are NOT updated continuously whether everyone’s connections are still active or not.

3.Not able connect

Some of the ISP providers block certain UDP ports. In this case either try connecting to a different ISP provider or connect to a VPN before launching the game. Better not to use any work computer to play the game as the security restrictions will block certain UDP ports.

4.419 page expired error

The game launcher is currently not using SSL. If you get this error, just load http://the304game.com/launcher and try again.
